How to read the result
Free means nobody has registered the name yet, so you can claim it. Taken means someone else owns it. Sometimes a name is free but not available through SitePack, for example an extension we do not sell yet. You then see which extensions you can register.

What if your domain name is taken?
Then someone else has registered it. Try another extension, add a word such as your city or what you do, or drop a hyphen or a long ending. Stay away from names that look like a known brand, because that can cause trouble later. Want to know who owns a taken name and when it expires? Use the WHOIS lookup.

What makes a good domain name
Short, easy to spell over the phone and the same as your business name. Use the extension your customers know: .nl in the Netherlands, .be in Belgium, .de in Germany, .es in Spain. Working across Europe? A .eu domain fits too.
What a domain name costs
One domain is included in every SitePack package. An extra domain costs, for example, €7.50 a year for .nl, €9.00 for .be, €9.50 for .eu and €15.00 for .com, excluding VAT. A mailbox of 5 GB on your domain is included as well.
