What we mean by made in Europe

Short answer

The platform your website runs on is built, hosted and supported inside the European Union. Not a European label on top of an American cloud, but European hosting, European payment providers and a European team.

Plenty of website builders call themselves European because they have an office here. Underneath, the site often runs on infrastructure owned elsewhere, the payments travel through a provider on another continent, and support arrives by email long after you have gone home. We built SitePack the other way around. The servers, the databases, the copies of your site, the mailboxes and the payments all sit inside the European Union. The company behind it is European, your agreement is European and your invoice is in euro. If you want to know where something runs, there is an answer, and it fits in one sentence.

Why it matters where your website runs

Hosting looks like a technical detail, right up to the moment it decides which law applies to your data, who is allowed to ask for it and who helps you when something breaks.

Your data stays in the EU

Your pages, your customer records and your orders sit on servers inside the European Union, including the copies we keep of them.

European law applies

One legal framework for your site, your mailbox and your payments. The GDPR is where we start, not something added later for European visitors.

The payment methods your customers already use

Credit card, PayPal, SEPA direct debit and Wero, paid out to your own European bank account and invoiced in euro.

People you can actually reach

Our support team works from Europe, in your time zone, in Dutch or English. Your question gets answered during your own working day.

One party responsible

Hosting, mail, payments and support come from the same place, so nobody can point at another supplier when you have a problem.

Fewer surprises from far away

Prices in euro, agreements under European law and a chain of suppliers you can follow. Less to worry about when the weather changes elsewhere.

How it works

How we keep it that way

  1. We choose European suppliers

Every supplier we add has to keep the data inside the European Union. If a service cannot do that, we do not use it, however convenient it would be.

  2. We look at the whole chain

It is not enough that our own servers are European. We also check who our suppliers use in turn, because that is where data quietly leaves the continent.

  3. We say what we use

Ask us where a part of the platform runs and you get a real answer instead of a marketing page. If something changes, we tell you.

Frequently asked questions

Where is my website hosted?
On servers inside the European Union, together with your database and the copies we keep of your site. Nothing is stored outside the EU.
Is SitePack itself a European company?
Yes. SitePack is European and run from Europe. The agreement you enter into and the invoices you receive are European too, in euro.
Does this make my site compliant with the GDPR?
It settles the hardest part, because your data does not leave the European Union. What you still decide yourself is what you collect from visitors and what you say about it in your privacy statement.
Are the payments European as well?
Yes. SitePack Payments works with European payment providers, offers the methods your customers already use and pays out to your own bank account in euro.
What if I add an external service myself?
That is your call to make. A script, a tracker or an app you add yourself can send data outside the EU. The platform itself does not.
Which languages can I get support in?
Dutch and English, from our own team in Europe, during European working hours.
